Small things that help

• Use a clear, final version of your document before converting so you do not need to re-convert after small edits.
• If the PDF will be printed, ensure margins and page size in Word match your target (e.g. A4 or Letter).
• For forms or official submissions, check the recipient’s file size limit and compress the PDF if needed.

When it goes sideways

• Conversion fails or times out: Keep the file under 10MB and ensure it is a valid DOCX. Save as DOCX from Word if you use an older format.
• Layout looks wrong in the PDF: Complex layouts, embedded objects, or custom fonts can differ. Simplify the document or adjust in Word before converting.
• File size limit error: Each document must be under 10MB. Compress images in the Word file or split the document and convert in parts.
